Three D Firetrain cc is a small family business that cares about customer service. Specializing in rendering all your firearm training needs one-on-one, accommodating the individual’s requirements with various administrative support services and training to the Security Industry, private businesses, and individuals who share our passion for the safe handling and use of firearms. Three D Firetrain cc was started in 2004 and was accreditated with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Safety & Security Sector Education & Training Authority (SASSETA). In 2016 Three D Firetrain also received its accreditation with the South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC).
Three D Firetrain strives to enhance, uplift, and continuously improve the quality of training, development interventions, and services within our scope of operation, adhering to the laws of South Africa and the policies and procedures as required by PFTC / SASSETA & SAQA. We value client confidentiality and honest service, rendered with integrity and trust in client relationships, without any form of unfair discrimination whatsoever.

Handle and use a handgun (119649)
- A handgun is handheld firearm like a pistol or revolver
- Can be used for self-defense or sport shooting
- Also used for security service (business purpose)
- The entry level to Business Purpose Unit Standard for Handgun (123515)
Handle and use a manually operated rifle or carbine (119651)
- A shoulder fired firearm usually with a long barrel
- Usually operates with a bolt-action or lever action to eject empty case and load new cartridge
- Can be used for hunting or sport shooting
- Also used for professional hunt / game ranger / anti-poaching (business purpose)
- The entry level to Business Purpose Unit Standard for Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine (123519)
Handle and use a shotgun (119652)
- A shoulder fired firearm, usually operates with a pump-action or break neck
- Single or double barrels
- Can be used for hunting or sport shooting
- Also used for security service (business purpose)
- The entry level to Business Purpose Unit Standard for Shotgun (123514)
Handle and use a self-loading rifle or carbine (119650)
- A shoulder fired firearm usually with a shorter barrel
- Operates with semi-automatic action to eject case and load new cartridge
- Can be used for sport shooting or hunting
- Also used for security service / game ranger / anti-poaching (business purpose)
- The entry level to Business Purpose Unit Standard for Self-loading Rifle or Carbine (123511)
Handle and use a muzzle-loading firearm (243200)
- A type of firearm made in the mid-19th century, usually an antique or Black Powder firearm
- It fires round lead balls or buck and ball ammunition, some were also designed to accept a bayonet
- They used the flintlock or caplock firing mechanism
- Popular amongst collectors, firearm historians and enthusiasts
- Competency for the relevant Basic Unit Standards should be completed
Ranger Officer (Supervise Shooting Exercises – 123516)
- To manage and supervise the complete operation of a shooting range or shooting exercises
- To use proper range commands and safety standards on the firing line during shooting exercises
- To effectively manage a shooting range, ensuring the safety of all shooters and spectators
- Competency for the relevant Basic and Business Purpose Unit Standards should be completed

- If you are a member of a club or an association: The club or association, your membership number and status
- If your application is for self-defence: If any specific information you wish to be included / If any CAS-no. of recent or past incidents or specific reference to incidents / Work circumstances / Farm owner etc.
Required Information for Business Purpose Applications
- Full name(s), surname & ID number of the Responsible Person (as it appears in his / her ID document) or photo of his / her ID
- Full name(s), surname & ID number of the business owner (as it appears in his / her ID document) or photo of his / her ID, if different from Responsible Person
- The business address (where the firearm will be kept)
- Details of the firearm: Calibre, Model, Make, Serial number (Copy of p.2 of SAP271 form, if available)
- Type of Business Purposes: Business in hunting / Theatrical, film and TV productions / Security Business / Training provider / Game Ranger / Other
- All the relevant registration / accreditation numbers of the company / business: At CIPRO / Trust / At SAPS / At PSIRA / professional hunting or hunting outfitters licence or permit issued by a relevant Provincial Nature Conservation Authority of the province in which the applicant conducts the business / any or other relevant Regulatory Authority
- If your application is for Other Business: Specific information and circumstances
