Three D Firetrain cc is a small family business that cares about customer service. Specializing in rendering all your firearm training needs one-on-one, accommodating the individual’s requirements with various administrative support services and training to the Security Industry, private businesses, and individuals who share our passion for the safe handling and use of firearms. Three D Firetrain cc was started in 2004 and was accreditated with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Safety & Security Sector Education & Training Authority (SASSETA). In 2016 Three D Firetrain also received its accreditation with the South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC).
Three D Firetrain strives to enhance, uplift, and continuously improve the quality of training, development interventions, and services within our scope of operation, adhering to the laws of South Africa and the policies and procedures as required by PFTC / SASSETA & SAQA. Services we Offer
Three D Firetrain cc renders customer focused firearm training and various supportive administration services, taking each clients’ needs and requirements into consideration, to the Security Industry, private businesses and individuals who shares our passion for the safe handling and use of firearms! We value client confidentiality and honest service, rendered with integrity and trust in client relationships, without any form of unfair discrimination whatsoever, giving one-on-one attention preferably, to all our clients.
Our training scope includes the following unit standards:
- 117705 – Knowledge of Firearms Control Act, 60 of 2000 (the Law);
- 119649 – Handle and use a Handgun (i.e. a pistol / a revolver);
- 119651 – Handle and use a Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine (i.e a bolt-action / lever action hunting rifle);
- 119652 – Handle and use a Shotgun (i.e. pump-action / break neck / semi-auto);
- 119650 – Handle and use a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine (i.e an AR-style rifle or carbine);
- 243200 – Handle and use a Muzzle-loading firearm (i.e. Black Powder firearm);
- 123515 – Handle and use a Handgun for business purposes;
- 123519 – Handle and use a Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine for business purposes;
- 123514 – Handle and use a Shotgun for business purposes;
- 123511 – Handle and use a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine for business purposes;
- 123516 – Range Officer.

Please note: You only need to do what you want or need, however, please note that the Law (Knowledge of Firearms Control Act, 60 of 2000) is compulsory if you don’t have a SAPS Competency or any firearm licences (white card) currently. For example, should you wish to buy a handgun for self-defence, you will need to complete your training in the Law and Handgun categories.
Your training will require the following:
– With our first contact session, one of our Assessors will have a Pre-Assessment meeting and discussions with you to be able to assist you to your needs, you will receive your training material according to your training requirements. The Assessor will explain to you and direct you as to the way forward with regard to your specific training requirements. With this session also, you will be required to settle deposit / payment, to provide us with a certified copy of your ID and, if you have any, previous training certificate(s) and / or SAPS competency and / or existing firearm licence(s);
– You will have a homework exercise(s). You will need to make an appointment for your class and for the review your homework. The Assessor will explain to you and direct you as to the way forward with regard to your specific training requirements. You will NOT be able to continue to the next step if your homework is not completed satisfactory;
– You will write a close book test;
– You need to complete your practical exercises and assessment at the shooting range.
We are also available and assist with
– Regulation 21 yearly refresher training;
– Anti-poaching training;
– PSIRA grades;
– Private security and alertness at home;
– Private social group sessions / “Fun days” / “Team building”;
– Individual private sessions with your own firearm at the shooting range.
Your training fees includes your training material, your registration at the PFTC to obtain your Statement of Results, Assessors fee, shooting range fees, ammunition and use of our firearms – No other hidden costs!
Discount may be given on cash payments!
We require at least 50% deposit from you when you receive your training material.
